New Concept Cars for 2012

new-concept-carsThe unveiling of new concept cars is one of the most exciting aspects of any auto show. In recent years, Volkswagen has had a variety of offerings, and they have been getting a very welcoming reception. From a re-imagined bug, to 2011’s Concept Truck of the Year, Volkswagen creates innovative designs that cause quite a stir.

  • E-Bugster: What could be more exciting than an electric Volkswagen Beetle? For Bug enthusiasts, not much! With its 114 horsepower electric motor, a lithium-ion battery and the ability to exceed 100 mph with zero emissions, the E-Bugster offers speed and style with an eco-friendly sensibility. The exterior is unique, with an arched and stretched front end, and speedster good looks, while the interior has EV-specific gauges befitting its modern style.
  • CC: The 2013 Volkswagen CC, with its newly redesigned look, will be available for purchase in the spring, and VW connoisseurs can hardly wait. Sticking to its successful formula of combining the look and spirit of a sports coup with the convenience of a four-door sedan, the 2013 CC features a redesigned grille, trunk lid, and rear and front styling. With standard features like Bi-Xenon headlights, the Adaptive Front Lighting System, and LED taillights, the CC is an entry-luxury vehicle that makes a bold statement.
  • NILS:  Designed for the urban commuter, the single-seat NILS looks like something out of a science-fiction movie. With a top speed of 80 mph, this electric vehicle produces no emissions or noise! It is a stylish model, as well, with gull wing doors and individual fenders for each of its 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
  • Bulli: Named 2011’s Concept Truck of the Year at Detroit’s auto show, the Bulli takes the iconic VW Bus into the future with a silent electric motor that produces zero emissions and can go from zero to 60 mph in less than eleven and a half seconds. It can travel 186 miles on a single battery charge, and the infotainment system is controlled via iPad. It is just a concept for now; but keep dreaming, and before you know it, the dream will become a reality.
